Abstract

School becomes the initiator and designer of public life today, and should take into account the world trends in science developments, provide qualitative knowledge, rely upon the needs of the innovation era, be the center of students’ social and patriotic upbringing. The article presents the educational institution - educational complex № 61, the city of Dnipro - as a socio-cultural center which provides intellectual, physical, moral, spiritual, cultural development of a child, forms a socially mature creative personality - a citizen of Ukraine and the world.
The article is about how this is achieved by a modern Ukrainian institution of secondary education and about the role of the head of the institution who is an innovative principal.
For the first time ever we talk about the secrets of principal’s work: the way she combines classical school management with the aspirations of the youth. The article reveals this and many other secrets of the school principal Svitlana Havrysh.
